Welcome to Mother's Favorite!
Thank you so much for those of you who have played the demo of Mother's Favorite.
It has been a project I have been developing for 3 years now, and I am incredibly humbled by the responses I have gotten thus far.
Moving forward I fully plan to finish the project before the end of 2019 and publish a full length version.
A majority of the game assets are finished and there are only a handful of CGs and animations that need to be finished before I can confidently say the content is 100% ready for publication.
The music being used it royalty free creative commons music that is currently acting as a placeholder. I am working with the amazing Reid Fowler (whose soundcloud can be found here.) to develop an original soundtrack specifically for Mother's Favorite.
The content in the demo is about 5% of the full game and when finished it is planned to be between 4-8 hours for one playthrough with at least 4 major story branches and at least 6 different endings. I truly hope this will be a large enough game that monetizing it will be worth the amount of content.
At the moment I am still debating what the final price of the full game will be. Currently I am fluctuating between the "pay what you want" option or simply $5. I want as many people as possible to play my game but I also want to make an appropriate level of profit from my work. I am believing a baseline price with many deals and bundles in the future is the best options, such as free game codes for let's-players and free access to the game for my Patrons (shameless plug for my Patreon, I do comics and animations in addition to games.)
I will post regular updates as often as I can to show progress and hopefully solidify a release date for the full game.
Thank you again for all the attention you have been giving this project.
Every download and every comment motivates me to do more and work harder. I want this game to be the best experience I can manage.
If you have any questions or critiques I will try and respond to your comments as soon as I see them. Thank you for your support.

From one artist to another, for a game that's 4-8 hours long with a unique soundtrack and such nice art I feel like a price tag of 5 dollars is selling yourself short. You could double or triple that without a second thought. Itch.io allows you to hold sales on your game if you're worried that some people might not be able to afford a steeper price. Definitely think about it!
Understood!
I am still debating whether it should be 'donate what you want" or a flat rate.
I both want money for my time and effort but also I don't want to discourage people who would have played it if it was a little cheaper.
Thank you for your feedback
From what I've read the opposite can also happen: people can see the price of something and think it's not worth playing because it's cheap. Better to sell something higher and then put it on sale. It's a weird psychological thing that our society does. You'll definitely want to strike a balance though.
Maybe you can do pay what you want with a minimum rate? I also think your ideas for packages was good too. I'd personally *love* to have a behind the scenes artbook pdf to scroll through or something along those lines that I could buy for an extra fee. You could also sell the custom soundtrack on itch.io or bandcamp and split the profits with the musician.
